TEAM REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN FOR THE 2021-2022 SEASON!
We currently offer tumbling classes for levels 1-4. We believe in perfection before progression and long term athlete development. We will not rush your child to reach higher level skills and we value the lessons learned along the way while your child progresses at their own pace. We encourage you to 'trust the process' and enjoy the ride!
We strive to teach more than just handstands, cartwheels, and handsprings - our classes focus on building strength, understanding body positions, and the reason behind drills. Tumbling is not something that can be rushed and progression is not linear; we celebrate your child in their successes and support them, encourage them and teach them through their plateau's and rough days. Tumbling classes are encouraged for all team members, but you do not have to be a team member to tumble with us!
Our Tiny Tots class is recommended for any tumblers aged 3-5. Tiny Tots teaches the fundamentals of tumbling, how to fall, basic body positioning and mobility for tumbling. Skills covered include forward and backward rolls, cartwheels, and bridges for those who are ready. If you are 5 years old and on an Elite team, ask your coach for a recommendation.
Level 1 Tumbling in cheerleading is a HUGE level! There are many skills included; therefore this class is for beginners all the way up to front and back walkovers. This class teaches the 12 tumbling positions, strengthening and mobility for longevity in tumbling, how to fall and awareness while tumbling. Skills include forward rolls, backward rolls, handstands, waterfalls, back extension rolls, cartwheels, round offs, back bends, kick overs, back walkovers, front walkovers, limbers, valdez, connected passes, and power hurdles.
This class is for athletes who have demonstrated sufficient understanding of all the skills in level 1 class. This class builds off the skills in level 1 and begins to get athletes comfortable with faster tumbling and airborne skills. We use drills and strengthening exercises to prevent injuries and increase speed and skill proficiency. Skills include standing back handsprings, round off back handsprings, front handsprings, fly springs and step outs. At the same time, we begin introducing proper body shapes for back and front tucks through drills and progressions.
This class builds off the skills learned in level 2/3 class. This class is where athletes will begin to practice completely airborne skills. By this time in their progression, they have learned the proper shapes, speed, and have plenty of confidence upside down. This class teaches running back tucks, front tucks and side aerials. Once athletes have demonstrated understanding of these level 3 airborne skills, they will begin working on layouts, standing back tucks, onodi's and front punch step outs.
We offer many drop-in tumbling classes to give athletes the opportunity for extra practice. Some drop in classes focus on all skills in a level, and others are specific to a certain skill which is great when an athlete is getting really close to a goal!
